Review

Nail-biting. That is what this book is. You just cannot stop reading it. I got this book while I was in England stuck from the volcano and it only took me 5 days to read it. 5 days to read 607 pages.

In this book a lot of unanswered questions are answered. You learn things in this book that you think are not possible. You learn things about Snape and Dumbledore. When you learn secrets about the two of them you will not believe it. I had to read sections all over again to make sure what was just said was true.

But there is no question if this book is good or not. This book is spectacular. And Malfoy. So much for being evil. Ha. Wait till you find out about him. (And, no I did not just give anything away. I just gave you a taster.) You just wait until you get the book to find out all of these little thing. You just wait.

But hurry.

The Foster Mother of an Elephant

If you are interested in African animals, you do not just have to read about them. Currently, I am the foster-mother of an elephant named Shukuru. She was found in a manhole. A herder heard her cries and went to see what it was, after getting help and a lot of tugging and pulling they successfully got her out. Shukuru stuck by the side of a sheep and would not leave its side. The hearder called The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and they took the elephant away to be looked after. Her full name, Nashukuru, meaning ‘i am greatful’ and she has a lot to be grateful for. After they had taken her away, they found out that there were poachers who had found her earlier and were going to be coming back the next day. If you want to read her full story or foster her, or another elephant baby  too click here, or if you want to learn more about the Orphan’s Project click here. Enjoy and maybe you might find the elephant that is right for you.

This is not my elephant.

Review

The summary is taken from Netflix because there is so much happening that it was too hard for me to summarize. If I wrote the summary it would be a page long and you would not have to watch the movie. Anyway. This was a very good movie. I thought the way that they created it was very good. It seemed like it was from a different world but it was not to far out there. In one of the parts a royal persons throat gets cut and instead of the blood being red, as we know it, it was blue. This is because royal blood is supposedly blue. The movie was very creative and imaginative. I would definitely watch it agin. It is a see “many more times” movie. I hope that you will like it as much as I did.

I enjoy it so much I am going to be buying it. Normally when I borrow movies from the library I just watch it. This movie is a MUST have.

Rating: PG-13

Violence: Surprising amounts of fantasy/swashbuckling violence, including sword fights, knifings, and sorcery that ends in murder (a man drinks poison and keels over, another man is pushed off a ledge) and destruction. In one particularly brutal scene, a witch drowns a man with a voodoo doll and uses his body to try to stab another. In another scene, she slits a victim’s throat. Animals are also killed for witchcraft, and Yvaine is being pursued so a sorceress can eat her heart.

Sex: No nudity, but some kissing and a few cleavage shots. A young woman seduces a young man and gets pregnant (nothing explicit is shown). Tristan and Yvaine spend a night together, though the audience only sees them together under the covers.

Language: Quite benign; mostly just insults (“idiots”) and the occasional “damn.

Drinking, Drugs, & Smoking: Pirates drink, before, during, and after pillaging. Tristan and Victoria steal away for a picnic where they drink champagne.
