Review

I never finished this book. I got to page 211 out of 321 pages. The book was ok until there. Throughout the book there were a lot of bloody fights between the girls and the boy and the werewolves. They were really violent and bloody. But when it got to about page 200, the book too a different turn. It had talked about girls being killed, but then it went into detail about one of the girls being eaten and what was left of her. This just completely turned me off this book. I was just managing before with all of the blood and everything, but when it got to the part with the mangled girls body, and what was left, I just could not read any more. This book is for Older Young Adults. Maybe 15 or something. This is not a read again for me at all. If you have a queasy stomach, then do not read this book. It is utterly disturbing. But if you want to give it a try, be my guest. This is just what I thought of it.

Review

OK. This book was pretty good. There are a couple of complaints that I have about it though. It was really gruesome. Somethings that were talked about were done so in great detail. The book was good in a sense of the story line but it was inappropriate.  The reading was easy enough but I would say the content was for either a mature teenager or an adult. This book was definitely not suitable for younger readers – or the squeamish. I would recommend this book for people over the age of 15.  I will not say some of the things described but all I will tell you is that this book was gory, violent, disturbing, and inappropriate. Also if you know the regular James Bond, this is not like it at all. There is nothing about 007, and he does not drive fast cars. He is just a school boy who is trying to stop some mean man and nearly gets killed along the way. The only resemblance that I see with this book to Ian Flemming books was that he was trying to save the world, and he nearly got killed. Otherwise it was just a story with a boy named Bond, James Bond.

WOULD I READ IT AGAIN?    No.

The Silent Boy by Lois Lowry

Summary

Katy always knew she wanted to be a doctor just like her father. She likes the feeling of helping others. But she is interested in Jacob, the boy who does not talk, the silent boy. While Jacob does not really do anything but sit there and imitate sounds, Katy and Jacob seem to have a odd relationship, one that is there but not there.

When Jacob does something he shouldn’t have done, Katy has to try and help him. But will it work?

Review

I hate saying this about books but, I really did not like this book. Lois Lowry is a great author but this was one of her ‘not so good books.’ The writing is really good but the story base line is very depressing. You (readers) might like it if you are a person who likes depressing books but I am not one of those people. I like books that make you cry but when they make you feel really down and upset and depressed, I just cannot handle those books. They seem like nothing can go right in the world, and that is not me. Lois Lowry wrote the story very well but I did not like the story base line. These types of books I can just put my opinion out, you kind of just have to decide for yourself. But personally this is not my type of book. What do you think?

Review

This book was good in the beginning and the middle, but the end was a disaster. It just suddenly stopped. It was like the author rushed the end.  She had only gotten one or two of the plagues. I do not think that I would read it again. What do                                                                                                         you think?????                                             Happy Reading!!!!!!
