Happy Blogiversary To Me!

Wow, with how hectic my summer is being so far, I completely forgot to countdown the days until my Blogiversary.

But today is the day.

I’ve been a blogger and blogging for 6 years now.

It really doesn’t feel like that long at all. While there have been some great moments with some fabulous posts and interesting interviews, to moments where the blog does go dead (blame life getting in the way and not letting you read and get a nice post up), we’ve survived and my readers have continued to come by and support.

I’m currently working on getting a nice chunk of books read and reviews written and ready to go so hopefully we’ll get this blog active once more.

I’d also like to thank M.O.M for assisting when needs be as she spends time online looking for things on interesting websites she follows and helps to support the blog sometimes when life gets in my way.

So here’s too 6 more years!

An Apology for All

Yes. I know I’ve been neglecting this blog and I’m sure half of my readers aren’t terribly interested since I haven’t been posting, but I AM SO SORRY!

I have absolutely been drowning in school work with AP Chemistry (worst. decision. ever) and lots of music activities (#musicianproblems) and it’s just been absolutely overwhelming.

But summer starts in 2 weeks (oh thank God; I don’t think I’d survive much longer without a break) so I will be back at this. I do have a few drafted posts and will try to post them, along with some notes from my English class for books and poems that many schools require students to read. Just to help out a fellow student ^.^

But I am back and I am still alive ~ Just been trying to survive school.

Senshi by Cole Gibson

(A Katana Novel)

Summary

“Is Rileigh’s only hope for salvation to team up with her sworn enemy?

Rileigh Martin just wants to do normal teenage things, like go on romantic dates with Kim, her boyfriend and past life soul mate. Although that seems impossible when she’s the reincarnation of Senshi, a fifteenth century samurai warrior. After a ninja ambush leaves her unable to control her ki powers, Rileigh vows to get them under control before her friends lose more than their eyebrows. But when Kim leaves her for his past life betrothed and the other samurai stop talking to her, Rileigh realizes she doesn’t have any friends left to worry about.

As the ninja attacks increase, Rileigh learns that the reincarnated kunoichi, a powerful female ninja, wants to kill her in order to reclaim her destructive powers. Alone and with increasingly unstable powers, Rileigh’s only offer of help comes from Whitley, her sworn past life enemy. Rileigh knows she doesn’t stand a chance against the kunoichi by herself, but Whitley’s sudden allegiance might be hiding a much deadlier agenda.”

Review

Okay. So apparently this is the second book in the Katana series and for the life of me I cannot remember if I read the first book. I am pretty sure that I did because I recognize the cover and I vaguely remember the book, but since I didn’t ever review it on here, I cannot remember.

Anyway. Even if you did not read the first book, it was mostly still understandable.

I personally loved the book because I love this ninja type stories with the girl and the guy. I loved it so much so that I finished it within like two days.

It was exciting, fast paced, and had a lot going on. It was one of these books that book lovers sometimes criticize because it wasn’t exactly what you would call advanced writing where you had to stretch your brain to understand it, but it was a nice change after reading those types of books all school year.

There really is not a whole lot to say about the book because the summary tells you all about it and I cannot really criticize the book because the things which confused me were probably explained in the first book. But overall I absolutely LOVED this book and would definitely recommend for people to read it.

The first book in the series is called Katana by Cole Gibsen, just so you know.🙂 Also the cover for the first book looks like this…

I love the cover for Katana because of the simplicity but the way it really reflects the girl, Rileigh, and what the story is about. I also LOVE the cover for Senshi. The cover was the reason that I picked it up because it intrigued me and also the title was interesting as well.

This is quite hot off the press as it only came out in about March so it will probably be on the new stands in your local library. Check it out and let me know what you think.
