Summary

****Deveraux Academy is not what it seems. The football team practicing beside the ivy-covered dormitory is merely a hologram, and the elderly receptionist could break your neck in three seconds flat. Deveraux’s students rarely call the school by its proper name. They call it spy high.

Ordinarily, the students had-picked by Senior Tutor Elemore Grant are flawless, but his latest creation, Bond Team, is falling short of expectations. When personally clashes between elected leader Benjamin T. Stanton Jr. and farmer’s son Jake Daly threaten to torpedo the group’s changes at completing the academy’s rigorous virtual reality training program. Grant decides Bond Team need a bonding experience. Suddenly, there’s nothing virtual about the danger that Ben, jake, and the rest of the Bond Team find themselves facing. This time failure won’t simply result in expulsion from school and the purging of their memories. This time, failure will result in death.

Review

This book was ok because it was annoying. In about the middle of the book, it was kind of like an old person was talking on for a really long time. I actually think I skimmed that part of the book. The other complaint about that book that I have are the people. The descriptions of the characters are not very good. They are vague. They were so vague that in the beginning of the book I thought the characters were little children. In 5 or 6th grade. I know that the title is Spy High but since the descriptions were so obscure, I just kept thinking they were these little kids fighting these really mean and big people. Even at the end of the book there was a sense of uncertainty because they did not drill the descriptions of the characters into your head. They gave their personality and what they did in the school of Spy High and what they were good at and why they were chosen to go to the school but not enough about what they looked like and were. For all I know they could be aliens from outer space with tentacles were their eyes should be. I felt that the book had a sense of confusion to it. The people were one thing but they were imaged as something else.  This was an ok book but I am going to read the whole series because I want to read it and find out what happens in the end. I personally thought it was an average book. Kind of like any other book you would find on a shelf.


Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightening Thief – Movie Review

The movie is coming out.

I am really really really happy.

I just finished the book and I cannot wait to see the movie.

It is a PG movie but, I think it is a bit more than PG.

You decide.

If you do not like scary images or things that kind of things, you might want to have a parent near by.

This comes out Presidents Day 2010.

Summary

Weird things are happening to Percy. It stated a long time ago but it gets weirder still. When his class goes on a field trip, he gets into trouble. When his teacher takes him inside the museum to talk to him a weird thing happens to her. She turns into a demon and tries to kill him, but fortunately one of his other teachers throws him a pen and it turns into a sword. He is safe. For now. He finds out later that his teacher was a Kindly One. A monster from Hades, God of the Underworld. When his mother realizes he is in danger, she tells him part of his story and he takes him to Half-Blood-Hill, a camp for people like him. But on the way his mother gets killed, or so he thought, by a monster. When he arrives at the camp they take him in and he sees that all this weird stuff is going on. Then he finds out some interesting information.  He is then sent on a quest. He is sent on a quest to find Zeus lightening bolt. If he does not find it there will be a war. A war of the worlds. Will Percy Jackson get to the lightening bolt before the monsters get to him????

Review

WOW. This book was AWSOME. It was so COOL. I would definitely read it again and again and again and again and I think you get the point. It was really good. I know that I say that about a lot of books but this one was out of this world (literally.) I would read it agin but I want to work my way through the series and then I will read the series many times over. Just like people read Harry Potter about a gazillion times over. I will read this series a gazillion times over.

The characters were described very well and the suspense….. Don’t get me started. There was a lot of suspense which made the book AWSOME and there was a little romance, betrayal, and all that fun stuff. It was really very good. It looked good to me but I did not expect it to be that good.

I know that the summary is all X’s and that is because knowing me I would give all of the secrets away. I am the type of person who will tell you that the name of the main characters are Cass and Max-Earnest  and…………

Anyway.

This book is full of surprises (and secrets.) Every time you turn a page you do not know what to expect. At one point in the book I thought one thing was going to happen but something totally different happened. This is a really GREAT book and I just hope Pseudonymous Bosh keeps writing.

The Lost Warrior (Warriors Manga Series #1), Warrior’s Refuge (Warriors Manga Series #2), Warrior’s Return (Warriors Manga Series #3)

These Mangas are just like the books in the New Prophecy Series. The only difference is that some of the books have different characters. In 1 hour I read 3 of them. These books are an easy read and would be good for beginner readers. It was really pleasant to read books with pictures because the books I read have pictures few and far between. If you are a person who read books but there are no pictures, these might be a nice break from them.
