Heroes We Need, But Don’t Deserve

Sometimes people come forward who do something so good for others, even when others don’t do good things to them.

That is exactly what is happening at McPherson Square Library in Philadelphia.

The librarians are having to teach themselves how to administer Narcan because of so many overdoses on their lawn and on their property.

It’s disgusting that the town cannot come to conclusion about what to do, provide the training themselves, or give them the support they need.

Instead, the librarians took it into their own hands.

As Batman once said, “A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know that the world hadn’t ended.”

I am pretty sure that these librarians qualify. They are going way above what they are required to do.
