Review

I have to say that I was genuinely surprised with this movie. I honestly thought that it was going to be a little kid like and quite bad since I was never a massive fan of the books, but I have to say they did a great job.

It essentially took everyone of R.L. Stine’s book characters and had them come out of their manuscripts and terrorize a local town. Then a small team had to get them back into their books. The main “bad-guy” was Slappy who was one of R.L. Stine’s most famous Goosebump characters – a dummy.

I will say straight off the bat that it was a PG movie but I honestly felt that it should have been a little more PG-13 or the older end of PG because it was honestly quite creepy sometimes with some of Stine’s characters. It’s perfect for a teen, but since Stine’s books are more for younger kids, supposedly, that is the age that would have been watching it and I don’t necessarily agree with that but it’s whatever.

The CGI in the movie was quite good as well. It had a child-ish like feel to it making some of the creatures obviously from books but it was still fantastic.

It did have a nice story to it and a good moral in the end, like all kids movies do, and I do suggest checking it out.

Even if you haven’t read any of the Goosebumps books, it was still an interesting movie. And if you have read them, then it was awesome to see some of your favorite villains come alive!

I do suggest this as more of a Halloween season movie because it’s perfect for them and a good family movie as well.

Do check it out if you have some time and let me know what you think.

Happy viewing!
